This month HR managers Natalie Jackson and Iain Collard along with Continuous Improvements leader Alex Gumery went to the JLR site at Castle Bromwich to take part in the annual conference of the Supplier Skills Forum ran by Jaguar Land Rover. The conference was attended by representatives from over 60 of JLRs suppliers.
The conference centres around various themes that are emerging within JLR such as any issues that will affect the supply chain and how to tackle them as well as networking to share best practice. There was a number of key speakers including JLRs Global Purchasing Director and special guest ex-England Cricketer Jeremy Snape. One of the key themes was ‘Millennials in the workforce’. Both Iain and Alex ran two breakout sessions which included a presentation regarding their experience at WHS and various company initiatives to engage with the Millennial workforce.
Both Alex and Iain received excellent feedback from those who attended. To add to the day, our sister company ETS received an award for their work with a JLR training programme called ‘Train the Trainer’. Overall it was a very good experience for WHS with some exposure and opportunities to network at one of our biggest customer events.
