Back to NewsWHS in 2016
So another year has flown by at WHS and 2016 has been an incredible year, with the opening of Factory three in January, the start of a new paint plant here at our Birmingham site in December . The company has grown from strength to strength with new customers, new machines and new people and we hope to continue this into next year.
With highlights of the year including WHS Plastics Egypt creating a Technical Department to provide services back to WHS UK back in March, Toyota UK presented WHS with the Supplier of the Month award in July and October saw the first shots being produced from the new manufacturing cell E row in Site One.
The staff at WHS have taken part in various charitable events including the Macmillan coffee morning to support Macmillan nurses, Movember to support testicular and prostate cancer and mental health in males and Christmas Jumper day for Ronald MacDonald’s house, Salvation army shelter and Alzheimer’s society contributing a combined figure over £1000 to some great causes.
2016 WHS saw a bunch of firsts in 2016. The company saw WHS Egypt Employee Ismail Fakhry visited WHS UK for the first time. Ismail has been with WHS Egypt since it first opened in 2007. WHS shipping controller Jade Harrison had also organised the first rail shipment container for tools coming back from China to WHS UK along the new silk road which goes through five different countries. WHS Plastics were also invited to apply for the Queens Awards for Enterprise. This is an award programme for British businesses who excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development and the first time WHS had been invited to apply.
Overall, 2016 has been a tremendous year for WHS with the company still continuing to grow we look forward to what’s in store for WHS in 2017.
