WHS Staff take part in NVQ training

Employees at WHS have been divided into three groups of twelve and put forward for the NVQ in Business Improvement Techniques, the key benefits of the course are personal skills improvement, key activities in each department over a 1 year period, key skills, visual display, problem solving and standardised work. The course includes an initial 2 day introduction and functional skills test lead by three trainers from Pera training, Harry March – functional skills co-ordinator, Mike Hall – Business Improvement trainer and Alan Bridge – Lead Assessor. The two days included three online tests which consisted of reading, maths and writing as well as team activities and team discussions with the trainers.Next month sees the start of the five day training for each of the three groups. The five days include the following as well as various other workplace activities, Simulated Production Learning which focuses on building a motorbike & sidecar, data Analysis, Standardised Work, the 5’S, work & waste, visual management, visual factory, quality and delivery. After the 5 day training course, a further 12 months is included to complete the course which is supported by our own Learning Centre staff and the assessors Michael Hall & Alan Bridge.  This is a real opportunity for the employees at WHS and we wish all 34 applicants the best of luck with the course.
