WHS UK Macmillan Coffee Morning

WHS UK took part in the ‘worlds biggest coffee morning’ on Thursday 25th September with staff from Different departments over the three shifts donating or baking cakes for employees to enjoy.  This is the second year that WHS have took part in the coffee morning.  Last year WHS was part of the 154,000 people signed up too the coffee morning raising a record £20 million for the charity.

With the toolroom, post moulding and B row canteen full of delicious cakes for everyone to share as well as fun games ‘guess how many coffee beans in the jar’ and ‘ how many hundreds and thousands on the cake’ really resting out our estimating abilities (just in time for the next stocktake!)

The Macmillan coffee morning is the biggest fundraising event for the charity to date.  The Macmillan charity asks people across the UK to hold a coffee morning either at work, at school or at home and donations on the day are made to Macmillan nurses charity fund.

Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face.  No matter how simple or fancy you make your coffee morning , you’ll be raising money to make sure everyone has a Macmillan team in their corner.  From diagnosis, through treatment and afterwards.  That way,  no one will have to face cancer alone.

This year, The staff at WHS UK raised £739 for Macmillan.  A big slice more then last years total of £541. WHS would like to thank everyone who helped organise the coffee morning, donated and ate a cake for such a worthwhile cause.
