WHS’s Macmillan coffee morning 2016

WHS UK took part in the ‘World’s biggest coffee morning’ On Thursday 29th and Friday 30th September with staff from different departments over the three shifts and from the three sites donating or baking cakes for employees to enjoy. WHS have been partaking in the Macmillan coffee morning for the past three years and have raised over £2,000 for the charity. Last year WHS was part of the 225,000 people signed up to coffee morning, raising a record £28 million for the charity.

With the B row canteen full of delicious cakes for everyone to share as well as games such as ‘guess the many sprinkles are on the cake’ really testing out our estimating abilities (just in time for the next stocktake!)

The Macmillan coffee morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event to date. The Macmillan charity asks people across the UK to hold a coffee morning either at work, at school or at home and the donations on the day are made to the Macmillan nurse’s charity fund.  Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. No matter how simple or fancy you make your coffee morning, you’ll be raising money to make sure everyone has a Macmillan team in their corner, from diagnosis, through treatment, and afterwards. That way no one will have to face cancer alone

This year the employees at WHS raised over £450 for Macmillan. WHS would like to thank everyone who helped organise the coffee morning, donated and ate a cake for such a worthwhile cause.
